I started from ZERO connections in Vegas and I’m going to show you how to do it. The first thing to remember is there is an ebb and flow to your networking but the thing that should never slow or stop is constantly building new business connections.
I attended fewer business networking functions in April and made more connections than January (which was a record for attending business networking functions). I share this to show you that it’s not quantity of networking functions that’s important, it’s the quality.
If you don’t know this about me, I operate Nevada SPEED Networking. It is what it sounds like. It’s like speed dating minus the obvious part. I fill the room with lots of Business Owners, High-End Sellers, and Entrepreneurs and connect them naturally and easily.
You’d be surprised how many participants are total introverts. It’s not bad but true and during the event I give them permission, in an upbeat way, to introduce them self at the speed of sound. It doesn’t matter if you’re an introvert or extrovert or anywhere in between.
It’s a fun and fast-paced event but here’s the question I get asked a lot.

It is an interesting question because I can tell you first hand how tough it was arriving in Las Vegas not knowing anyone and starting from scratch. I’ve made numerous mistakes along the way and decided to blog my experience so others can avoid those mistakes and become better, a Professional Networking and actually Network like a Pro.

You can’t compete with them on Ads but you can compete and win by focusing on the personal touch. By focusing one-on-one in a warm market. By maximizing business networking functions.
So what’s my story?
I arrived in Vegas 3 years ago knowing no one person and built business connections so fast that within months had a significantly large number. But, I didn’t stop there. I began expanding to other parts of town and made more connections. Eventually, I met Senators, Governor, Mayors, Congressmen (the list goes on) and some real movers and shakers in the business world.
So, in addition to connecting at the speed of sound I can safely say, I’ve done it. Do it, and still am building business connections today.
But, there’s a lot of blow-hards out there that’ll tell you what to do. Of course, they’ve never done it. They’ve never gone out and built business connections at all. They come up with silly stuff that’s more common sense than anything else. But, I’m here to tell you that what you might think of as common sense doesn’t work.
In fact, all of the “industry” way of thinking about building business networking functions is flat out wrong!
